Mix Country 106 Announces End of Full-Time Broadcast Operations on September 30, 2026

KMXC | Mix Country 106 has announced that it will end operations as a full-time, 24/7 internet radio station on September 30, 2026.

The decision follows a great deal of consideration and brings the station's continuous broadcast service to a close. Mix Country 106 will remain on the air through September 30 while the station completes its existing commitments and winds down regular operations.

“Mix Country 106 has always been about sharing great country music and supporting the artists, programmers, promoters, and industry professionals who make that music possible,” said Odie Lofton, co-owner of Mix Country 106. “We are deeply grateful to everyone who trusted us with their music, listened to the station, carried us through the years, and became part of our story. This was not an easy decision, but it is the right time for us to bring full-time broadcasting to an end.”

What will change after September 30

After the final day of continuous broadcasting:

  • Mix Country 106 will no longer operate a 24/7 radio stream.
  • The station will discontinue all syndicated programming currently carried on its schedule.
  • Mix Country 106 will no longer participate as a reporting or monitored station for music charts and industry panels.
  • Promoters, labels, artists, and radio-servicing companies should no longer consider Mix Country 106 an active station for regular airplay or music servicing.

Organizations that currently list KMXC | Mix Country 106 as an active, participating, monitored, or reporting station are asked to update their records effective September 30, 2026.

The name may continue in a different form

Although full-time broadcasting is ending, the Mix Country 106 name may not disappear completely. The station may occasionally produce and publish on-demand projects such as artist interviews, podcast episodes, or other special content. Any future projects would be separate from a full-time radio operation and would not represent regular broadcast airplay or chart reporting.

Throughout its run, Mix Country 106 has been fortunate to work with independent artists, Texas and Red Dirt performers, syndicated-program partners, promoters, chart organizations, fellow broadcasters, and listeners who believe in Real American Country Music.

“Every song sent to us, every show entrusted to us, every interview, every chart relationship, and every listener who tuned in helped build Mix Country 106,” Lofton added. “Thank you for being part of this journey and for giving us so many memories to carry forward.”

Mix Country 106 will continue broadcasting through September 30, 2026. Questions concerning the transition may be submitted through the station's website at MixCountry106.com.
